We have some incredibly exciting news to share with our Kasih Co-op community today: we are officially a verified member of the Fair Trade Federation (FTF)!
Since day one, our mission at Kasih Co-op has been about much more than creating beautiful textiles. It has been about the people behind the craft. We built this brand to empower women-owned businesses in Indonesia, to sustain long-term partnerships with master artisans, and to preserve the ancient, soulful arts of batik and ikat.
Joining the Fair Trade Federation is not just about adding a badge to our website; it is a rigorous validation of those core values. The FTF evaluates businesses on a deep, holistic level to ensure they are genuinely committed to fair wages, safe working conditions, and ethical practices at every single step of the supply chain.
In our official acceptance letter, the FTF screening committee specifically praised our "strong commitment to artisan partners and preserving traditional techniques through a highly collaborative design process." Hearing that feedback meant the world to us because collaboration and mutual respect are the heartbeats of Kasih Co-op.
When you purchase a bandana, scarf, or pillow from us, you aren't just buying a product. You are investing in a verified fair trade ecosystem that honors the maker, respects the environment, and keeps Indonesian heritage alive.
We want to send a massive thank you to you—our customers, retail partners, and community. Your conscious choice to shop small and shop ethically is what makes this impact possible.
Here is to continuing this beautiful, fair trade journey together!
