Care Instructions (For Longevity) - Batik thrives on gentle care:

  • Hand wash or machine wash on a delicate/gentle cycle in cold water.
  • Use a mild detergent or baby shampoo. Do not use bleach.
  • To prevent color fading, always line dry in a shady area and avoid prolonged direct sun exposure.
  • Always wash batik separately, especially the first few times.

4. Are your bandanas made with natural fabrics?

Yes! Our bandanas are made from 100% natural cotton, ensuring they are breathable, soft, and environmentally friendly.

5. How can you tell that your batik is authentically made and not printed?

Our Kasih Co-op's bandana is created using the traditional Batik Cap (Hand-Stamped) or Batik Tulis (fully hand drawn) wax-resist technique. Artisans apply hot wax onto the 100% cotton cloth before it is submerged in dye, a meticulous, multi-step process that often includes "sun baking" the fabric to set the colors.

  • Proof of Authenticity: Unlike imitation prints, genuine wax-resist batik penetrates the fabric fully. Look for the defining hallmark: the pattern and vibrant color saturation are nearly identical on both the front and back of the cloth.

  • Unique Artistry: Due to the use of hot wax, dye baths, and the necessary pre-washing (which may cause minor shrinkage), please expect subtle color variations and slight deviations from a perfect square shape. These small irregularities are the unmistakable signature of the human hand.
