About Us

Kasih Co-op partners with Indonesian artisans to create authentic handcrafted pieces  for you. From batik bandanas, scarves,  kimono robes to  napkins, each item is thoughtfully designed in the US and brought to life by skilled artisans in Indonesia.

The name Kasih means "love" or "care" in Indonesian, reflecting our dedication to nurturing meaningful relationships with artisans. Co-op signifies the collaborative groups of makers we partner with, working together to preserve their time-honored crafts while introducing them to a global audience. Kasih Co-op is a a US based for-profit small business, and we are rooted in a mission to give back. A percentage of our profits is dedicated to supporting education for Indonesian girls, empowering the next generation.

Every purchase supports women artisans, preserves traditional skills, and celebrates the rich culture of Indonesia. From batik fabric producers to seamstresses, quilt makers, and Ikat weavers, we are proud to represent and uplift female artisans while fostering a global perspective on craftsmanship.

Meet the Founder: Ivana

Ivana, Kasih Co‑op’s founder, grew up immersed in Indonesian culture before attending UCLA. Inspired by her entrepreneur mother, she launched her first ventures—selling greeting cards in middle school and working summers in her family’s business.

After college, Ivana followed her passion for traditional crafts and her desire to empower women artisans. She established Kasih Co‑op in 2012, initially focusing on batik jewelry and ikat poufs, and evolving into hand‑dyed textiles, wooden goods, and more.

Through Kasih Co‑op, Ivana supports 18 artisan partnerships across Java, Bali, Sulawesi, and Jakarta—over half of which are women-led businesses. She travels to Indonesia annually to collaborate on new designs and ensure artisans receive  sustainable opportunities. Ivana with Kasih Co-op is a Build a Nest Sustainability Artisan Accelerator Participant.
