This is a hand-dyed and hand-stamped batik scarf, handmade by artisans. This fabric is handmade by artisans in Java using centuries old wax & dye batik technique. 

  • This fabric is made from the lightweight bandana fabric.
  • This scarf is made from white cotton fabric that is then hand-stamped and hand-dyed using 700 years old batik wax and dye technique. The batik fabric is also then sun baked. You should expect some variation of the color.
  • This pattern is called Batu or Boulder
  • Size: 71"x21"
  • Due to the pre-washing process and the use of hot wax in its creation, our bandana may have slight variations in shape, resulting in a non-perfect square. This minor shrinkage is a natural part of the traditional batik process, adding to the uniqueness of each piece.
  • Made with 100% cotton fabric
  • Machine washable in cold and air dry. Wash batik separate from other garments.

Lovely scarf

The color is a nice soft blue. The scarf was soft without being flimsy. I needed something that will keep the sun and sand out of my hair. This nicely fits the bill.

I could tell from the photo that it was beautiful and I wasn't disappointed--it's light, gorgeous, with rich hues. It's longer than I expected but that's fine! My beautiful 26 year old daughter watched me open it (I'm 69) and immediately commented enthusiastically on its beauty and her approval of my choice (not always the case with an opinionated young one!) I'll be interested in other products from this vendor. 100% great!
