At Kasih Co-op, every piece tells a story—a story of heritage, skill, and the incredible hands that bring our batik creations to life. We're immensely proud to partner with talented artisans in Indonesia, whose dedication to traditional craftsmanship forms the very foundation of our collection. Today, we invite you to meet two of these remarkable artisan families who are the true heart of Kasih Co-op.

Mr. Alan, Mrs. Ari and Mrs. Umaroh: Decades of Dedication in Cirebon

In the vibrant city of Cirebon, Indonesia, we are honored to collaborate with Mr. Alan and Mrs. Ari. Their workshop is a bustling hub of creativity, employing a dedicated team of 10 men and 7 women batik artisans. Their business isn't new; it has thrived for decades, a testament to their enduring commitment to the art.

The legacy of their craft was lovingly started by Mrs. Umaroh, Mrs. Ari's mother, ensuring that generations of knowledge and technique have been passed down. Our partnership with Mr. Alan and Mrs. Ari began 5 years ago, right in the midst of challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic. We met at a fabric store, and a beautiful collaboration quickly blossomed. Since then, our partnership has grown, yielding many stunning batik pieces that you cherish. Our fully hand drawn batik bandana featuring Californian poppies and Indonesian hibiscus are all hand drawn by Mrs. Umaroh, pictured.

Mrs. Rosipa & Mr. Fajar: Crafting Modern Classics in Cirebon

Also based in the artistic heartland of Cirebon, we work closely with Mrs. Rosipa and her son, Mr. Fajar. Their collaboration with Kasih Co-op has flourished over the past few years, starting with the creation of our popular batik bandanas and robes. Their meticulous attention to detail and innovative spirit ensures each product is both beautiful and functional.

Mrs. Rosipa and Mr. Fajar's workshop supports a skilled team of 10 men and 5 women batik artisans, contributing significantly to the local economy and preserving vital traditional skills within their community. Their partnership has allowed us to explore new designs and bring even more diverse and exquisite batik to our customers.

Our relationships with artisans like Mr. Alan, Mrs. Ari, Mrs Umaroh, Mrs. Rosipa, and Mr. Fajar are more than just business partnerships; they are deep connections built on mutual respect, shared passion, and a commitment to preserving cultural heritage. When you choose a Kasih Co-op product, you're not just buying a beautiful item; you're supporting these incredible individuals, their families, and the continuation of an ancient, invaluable art form.
